What will You pay?
Counselling Salisbury has a sliding scale of charges ranging from £50 - £80 a session for individuals. Couples from £75-£90 a session. This will be at the client's discretion. click Terms & Contract. All sessions are paid by cash or cheque directly to Mike before each session.
The fees you pay will be discussed with you - there are no concealed charges.
Can You be assured of confidentiality?
Confidentiality can be assured through Mike's ethical and professional code of practice.
Will You have to wait and how quickly can You see Mike?
This is dependent on the available slots. Mike will endeavor to see you as soon as possible, so that you can both find a mutually agreeable time.
What is the difference between counselling & psychotherapy?
Different people use the words counselling and psychotherapy in different ways, so there is no commonly agreed definition. There is a general understanding that a psychotherapist can work with a wider range of clients and can offer more in-depth work where appropriate.
How many therapy sessions will You need?
This is impossible to say. The average number of sessions is 8, but some people elect to see a therapist for a long time; others are happy with very few sessions. It will ALWAYS be your choice and Mike will never pressurise you to have more sessions than you need. Mike sees that as unethical.
Can You be assured of high professional standards?
Mike has regular clinical supervision and he is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which has an ethical framework and code of professional conduct. Where will the counselling take place?

Walk and Talk Therapy?
If you want something different from the conventional sitting down. Mike offers walk and talk therapy, which is simply therapy whilst going for a walk in 'green spaces', for example the countryside. Does your work mean that You have to come at different times?
Mike will try his best to accommodate you, being as flexible as possible, dependent on availability.
Can You see Mike in the evening or at weekends?
Yes, Mike works after 18:00hrs and at weekends.
